WATERSMEET ( N Devon)

This is all part of Exmoor and a National Park, Dartmeet is run and owned by the National trust.

Just a quick blog tonight as we have been out dangling our maggots all day (no I mean fishing) and were knac....ed . A few weeks ago we plucked up courage to walk the very pretty but long and steep walk down to and along the river at Dartmeet. This is where the arms of the East and West Darts meet, very pretty and well worth the walks and climbs.

I chanced upon this site when searching for Monroe Devis Maternity Home, where my son was born in November 1962, I found it amazing.

We went to Cornwall in 2006, October for a week with our two children and my sons girlfriend and of all the lovely places there are around Cornwall we still found ourselves driving over to Dartmoor. We went to Dartmeet for the day and the kids were playing on the stepping stones. Two of the three kids fell in and got soaked. I bet you can't guess which two? *nods head* Yep! My two. My daughter is such a drama queen and to see her squelching about all day was so funny! Whats that stone bridge called which is near there? We played pooh sticks on it. Clapper bridge? I'm sure you will put me right. I think we visited Pomeroy Castle that day too. Now that was really spooky. Our car has central locking but it wouldn't work down there. As soon as we were out of the area, it worked fine. We had a video recorder the first time we visited and when we played it at home there were 'orbs' all over the place. :o)
