IS IT REALLY THAT LONG ?

Its 43 years that we've been wed,
I thought by now that i'd be dead,
The time it seems to just fly past,
They said that it would never last,

That day way back in sixty four,
Was I right? you'r never sure,
But now I wonder what was that about,
We told them that there was no doubt.

At times we've had our scowls and frowns,
And certainly our ups and downs,
But overall things have been good,
As we both new that they would.

We had two kids ,they were the best,
Now they've gone and flown the nest,
Four grand kids they soon gave to us,
Some kids for the wife to cuddle and fuss.

We've grown together like two old oaks,
Sue even laughs at my bad jokes,
Its all been worth it in the end,
Cause we're our loves our lives and our best friends.
