IT'S NEARLY ALL OVER.

From today it's just about done,
Most of us have had some fun,
We've all had lots and lots to eat,
Fruit and veg,and lots of Meat.

The christmas tree the lovely lights,
Gave us all some pretty sights,
The houses all dressed up to kill,
On doors ,on fronts on window sill.

The kiddies stockings all were hung,
On Christmas morn the bells were rung,
To see their eyes filled up with glee,
Seeing lots of pressies under the tree.

Its sad to think it'l all be bare,
Gone will be the xmas fare,
Replaced again by those plain walls,
Until next year when december calls.

ITS A DOGS LIFE.

As you can see Mojo and me fishing,As usual she's in total control (otherwise I catch nothing).

When we go fishing we take all the gear,
But mostly the fish have nothing to fear,
Without my dog i'd be in the mire,
I'm sure the fishing would be dire.

She sits and watches all day long,
Im sure she thinks I'm doing it wrong,
I fish with a float then with a lead,
She'd be better off fishing instead.

Today we've come to really try,
To catch Bream or Carp I dont know why?,
We put them back not take them home ,
Back to the lake they're free to roam.

JACK FROST

Now autumns gone and winters nigh,
No more flowers with heads held high,
The days get cooler day by day,
Summer seems so far away.

The scents and aromas of summers past,
The heady times just could'nt last,
Now we ponder what to plant next year,
Sitting at home with tea or beer.

Our gardens are so gaunt and bare,
Winter veg is now our only fare,
We've planted up our spring blooms,
All tucked up as winter looms.

This morning I woke to a beautiful sight,
My what had happened through the night?,
It looked just like a postcard scene,
but it was'nt snow, Jack Frost had been.

FLOWER POT MAN.

My front garden is approx 14 ft by 5ft (I'm sorry but I'm too old to worry about metres). Because of this I grow all my plants in Pots, Planters, Tubs and Hanging Baskets. As you can see it still gives a good display.

Summers here the air is sweet,
The garden really is a treat,
The Fuchsias, Daisies, Begonias too,
Are all around for you to view.

CARDIFF AIRPORT 1999 (Majorca holiday)

As you can see by sun tan we have just arrived back and are at our favourite pastime. I wish we both looked like that now,8 years is a long time ,wear and tear wise. That was our last Majorca visit (We'd been seven times before). Then it was Caravaning from then on in.

The sun has had its hat on,but we came home today
Soon you'll never notice that we'd ever been away,
Englands lovely weather will take away the tan,
So try to catch the sunshine any way you can.

BERRYNARBOR BITES.

I'm afraid the good times never last,
We've had our fair share in the past,
Especially over in N.Devon,
Where Berrynarbor is our heaven.

Parties a plenty on our site,
Some that went on through the night,
Plenty to drink was had by most,
Mary Brian played mine host.

We've managed a few over the years,
Not one of them ever ended in tears,
Birthdays,Aniversaries and bonfire night,
Sparklers and fireworks my what a sight.

There where 60s-70s and a lot more,
Fancy dress so they were'nt a bore,
Halloween and Ghosties were just a few,
Some of the costumes you had to view.

Mods and rockers ,Hippies too,
Mobsters,Witches and docter who,
We've had all sorts along the way,
Now all of this has had its day.

BIG BUSTY BIKER BABY.

With some news today I was shared,
My Daughters blogging so be prepared,
She's seen here what's been done,
Thought perhaps she'd do one.

If you remember from the past,
Of certain proportions she's quite vast,
Bigbustybikerbaby is the name that'll fit,
She's named the title "You wont believe it".

One thing is certain she'll get her own back,
Of ideas i'm sure she wont lack,
Not sure what it'll be about,
All and sundry better watch out.

The family had better be prepared for sure,
There will be no secrets for us any more,
Could be Fiction could be true,
Friends and neighbours"IT COULD BE YOU".

XMAS SHOPPING.

To Teignmouth town ,today I was forced,
Had to go or be divorced,
Must admit it was hard to Choose,
But my old ducks I didnt want to lose.

When Xmas shopping I'm not at my best ,
Pushing and shoving with all the rest,
In and out of shops all day ,
Its usually me that has to pay

Its hard enough the car to park,
Round and round what a bloody lark.
Glad It's only once a year,
Cause every thing is so damn dear.

Now I'm at home and in my chair
Missus says Ive done my share,
Think thank god that its all done,
But 2007 there will be another one.

THE GOOD OLD DAYS.

In bygone times when I was'nt so old,
I was nearly handsome so i'm told,
I had a lot of hair back then,
Though I don't remember when.

My eyes were good and I could see,
Drank beer then not just tea,
I was'nt always in the loo,
When I'd had a pint or two.

I had some teeth they were my own,
Would'nt have eaten sweets if i'd only known,
To the dentist I dont go any more,
But can't eat toffees or sweets for sure.

In those days I was nice and slim,
Worked out weekly in the gym,
They say when you stop the workouts, that,
All the muscle soon turns to fat.

I think the ditty says it all,we seem to fall to pieces when we get older(I certainly have) .As a couple when we think of the things we did in days gone by,well thats another story( excuse the pun)Perhaps another Blog .!!

A RED LETTER DAY.

Today we filled the car with kit,
Our skills against the fish to pit,
The sky was grey but clouds were high,
It did'nt look like rain was nigh.

We today tried a new fishery (for us) ,it is just a couple of miles outside of Paignton. We had never heard of it,but apparently it has been there quite some time. The day threatened rain but we only had one heavy shower.First impressions were'nt great the road down was very bumpy and the entrance narrow, when arriving at the site hut to pay, we were greeted very pleasantly by the owner who could'nt do enough to help. This was good news as we are both disabled and a little help goes a long way.
At the fishery there are two lakes, one for specimen Carp and cat fish (The bottom lake),the other a mixed fishery of skimmer Bream, Carp,Tench, Crucian Carp ,Roach etc. The lakes have hard paths to each peg, they are on hard standings with wooden surrounds. You can see he really tries (apparently he only took over in Sept). We decided to fish the top lake ,pegs are mostly close to car parks. We fished in adjacent pegs, and ended the day with 15 roach -1 Carp around 3lb- 3Breamof 2.5 to 3lbs, plus 2 lovely Crucian Carp one around 1lbs .4ozs (my best ever) a really enjoyable day for early winter fishing which can be very hard.Even Sue liked it and caught her share of the fish.
